"Favorite Children"
... photos I especially like... how they came to be/why they are special to me.

Windmills are also still a prevalent factor in the Texas landscape. They speak of heritage, and sometimes of sacrifice in a dry land. But then you see a facsimile of one in someone's side yard.

Texas still has its mystique going for it, but there is definitely a "Texas Then" and a "Texas Now." I prefer the remnants of "Then," like this shot of Blanco County Supply (hardware) that has been on the town square since 1952-- maybe because their stock now includes windmills in boxes!
