Chinese Checkers

We kids didn’t like regular checkers—they were “boring”—but we really enjoyed Chinese Checkers. It fascinated us that they came “all the way from China.” We played in the evenings around the kitchen table, and this game was even more fun because my uncle Harry would play it with us. The dice are long gone. I always chose to be blue.—Mabel
