This is Suzy. She is the handiwork of my maternal grandmother and was a gift from her on my fourth Christmas. She has been with me for the ensuing 56 years and has endured various stages of repair and disrepair. She reminds me that although Grandma is long since gone, she lives on in her family and the gifts she gave us—not all of them tangible, like Suzy. —Jerri
