Threadbare Texas photo essay

Texas remains a place where the past is present in the form of surprising "finds," for me as a photographer; many of them intriguing and many worn by hard use or by time. Some are towns whose heyday is over; some are manmade mementos of an earlier time. These threadbare discoveries deserve a life beyond their ability to survive the elements, if only because many of them possess their own tired beauty.
